I've had Ninja going on 2 months now and in that time we've had to go to the vet 4 times and now l have to make another appt. The first vet thought he had a bad head cold due to his congestion and put him on clavamox, which did not help. Then he started wheezing when he was playing so l took him to another vet and they said he had asthma so he has an inhaler and he is on prednisone. While at the vet last time he had an accident (diarrhea) with a little blood in it. The asst. said the blood was from him being irritated from the diarrhea and that there was blood and mucous in it. They took some blood and did a fecal (which was negative). Waiting for blood test results now. Recently l moved in with my boyfriend and found out he has mold in his basement and bathroom and started wondering if that is why he has not gotten better. I am making another appt. with another vet but l just wanted every-ones opinion.. Is there anything l can do to help the poor little guy? Any suggestions on how to get rid of the mold?
Oh and also he is still congested and breathing strange.
The vet is not sure.. Taking him to another one to get another opinion.

Certain antibiotics can cause diarrhea, & prednisone can cause G l upset to the point of bleeding, at least in people. Bleach kills mold, but there is some controversy lately that it may stir up the mold & make it worse. Can u keep ur cat from going in the basement at all? It might be one way to see if he gets better when he is not around it. l do not know what is wrong with ur kitty, but u might get some better ideas if u post this in the pets-cats section.

Yes this is probably the cause. Use bleach on it. Many household sprays have mold killer in them. Check your local supermarket if you do not want to use bleach.
