l developed allergies to something this winter and the last 2 weeks l have had a bad sore throat from my sinusis(i think) draining during the night. what can l do?

If its been 2 wks then u really need to see a doc for antibiotics . . . gargling hot salt water will help, also rub some vics vapor rub on your throat and under your nose . . this will not only open up your passages it will help relieve some of the sinus pressure

Are u taking anything right now? Try an antihistamine, Benadryl is one that works great, makes u drowsy though. Warm saline rinses through ur sinuses using a product by Neil Med -it is at most drugstores.- It is a bottle with individual packets of saline & comes with directions just blow gently to remove it from the different areas of ur sinuses. If it started during winter,dust ur house only with a moist cloth. You need to remove the dust not spread it around or add more chemicals to the environment. Make sure u r going to bed clean & wash ur sheets in hot water weekly, check & change ur air filters at least every two to three months, monthly is preferable if the sinus problem is bad ,also get an air purifier (non ozone emitting) for ur bedroom.
The sore throat can also be caused by GERD or reflux which will also aggravate the sinuses. Do see a doctor & possibly & ENT because they have better tools in office to give u a better idea of what is truly causing this sore throat. Of course warm drinks help to sooth, non MSG broth & if u have a Whole Foods near u pick up some good ole chicken soup & some herbal tea & honey. Tylenol Pm is good if it is allergies since it will help with the pain & deliver the generic benadryl for the allergy.

My sister gargles cayene pepper powder and water together.it has immediate favorable effects. Her sore throat dissappears.
