About 4 months ago my lips got pretty itchy and l developed what appeared to be very small hives on my lips (small enough it'd seem to be pores/glands on my skin). This lasted about 5 days, and went away by itself (it seemed that scratching it just made it worse, but otherwise there was not much other than the itch). This had happened after l eat eaten a *lot* of peanuts -- l was mild suspicious, but shrugged it off.

Well, 2 days ago l ate a fair amount of cashews. The next day, l noticed the edge of my mouth being a bit dry/itchy. Today, I've got those little hive-ish things again.

l am going to see if it is going to subside tomorrow or just spread out into more hives. For now, l am curious, is it possible to have such a mild reaction as this? l thought food allergies involved a lot of immediate symptoms and swelling. l should note l never had any problem with nuts before this, although l have gotten a rash that looked very similar to this that was diagnosed as an allergic reaction.

Yup, l think it is a minor allergy. l was once allergic to seafood and whenever l ate them, l would develop rashes on my skin.

What appears to be a minor nut allergy can actually become very serious allergies. l would see a doctor about ur reactions. A lot of reactions start this way but become worse over time. l have been allergic to tree nuts for years, & l am allergic to many other foods. Most, if not all of my other allergies started of the way u described. now l have to avoid these foods.

And to the people that say its minor & its no big deal. All allergies r a big deal. None should be taken lightly. Allergies r not something to joke about, or tell people what to do if u do not know about them from experience or a medical professional.
