l have an 8 year old rottweiller/collie x.For the past 2 years his nose has been dried out, cracked,and flaky.If he gets excited it sometimes bleeds,The vet has said its a form of ''collie nose'' and its caused by an immune system reaction.He prescribed a 4 week course of steroids.It hasnt helped at all.l just wondered if there is a remedy out there that l can use that wont be detrimental to the dog if used over a longer period?

This may sound a little weird but take a q-tip with a little Vaseline and just lightly rub it on his nose for about two weeks and that should help.
