Allergic to bleach- Can I still dye my hair

This is something I've always wondered. I am allergic to the standard cleaning bleach. Does that mean I am allergic to the kind of bleach you put in your hair? I am not sure if there is a difference between them or not.
So basically, would it ever be ok to dye my hair blonde [l have dark red hair]? Or would my allergy hold me back?

The bleaching agents are not the same. Still as with all hair coloring, you are supposed to do a skin test 24 hours before you apply to color.
This is one time when you really should read the package and follow the instructions.

Peroxide is in hair bleach, so if you are allergic to peroxide you will have a reaction, l have to be very careful, l have a reaction to peroxide, but have only had a reaction once to hair dye when l used a general store bleach aid, l would strongly suggest going to a Beauty Supply store, they can give you a gentler bleaching agent for your hair
