l am 26 years old and l was recently diagnosed with a level (class) 2 wheat and egg allergy. l can not get into the allergist for another 2 months. l was told by my doctor is nurse not to eat wheat or eggs anymore. Is it really necessary to not eat these foods until l see the allergist?

Yes is the answer - u should avoid them for a couple of reasons.

Firstly - avoiding them allows ur body a chance to recover from previous reactions & when u see the allergist they will get a history from u of how ur health has changed in this time without reactions. So keep a mental record - or note things down if u need to. Consider things like upset stomach, cramps, sleep, headaches etc

Secondly - constantly challenging ur immune system with known allergens may lead to an increased reaction next time - is that really what u want to do? No l did not think so.

You may be perfectly fine, but something must have caused u to check this out in the first place - u must have been worried. So give ur body a chance & challenge yourself to see how well u can keep them out of ur diet - not easy but l am sure u will be successful.

You r lucky to know what ur triggers r & this puts u well on the way to a healthier happier life - good luck.
