l get nosebleeds very often too! Sorry to say but there is no way to make them stop coming, but for advice on how to help them stop when you've got one, listen up!
Instead of pinching the top of ur nose (Painful & not very effective)
or tilting ur head back (Ineffective & makes u swallow the blood :S)
l would try pinching ur nostrils together with a tissue so ur nose is closed. This makes them stop a lot quicker l find. Try it next time & hopefully it will improve!
Hope it gets better! :D

Do u see an ENT doctor about these??? Depends on ur age too.

My daughter had them starting at age 3, l spent hrs. in ER, Cauterization's, etc. ENT Drs. come to find out at age 11 she had high blood pressure.

As she came to maturity, she thankfully outgrew both so far.

l sincerely would recommend an ENT doctor if u have not seen one, or if u have, see a different one. There has to be a reason to have these that no one has found yet!

Good luck to you.

Repeated nosebleeds may be a symptom of disease such as high blood pressure, allergies, a bleeding disorder, or a tumor of the nose or sinuses. Since you said you have a broken nose..this too will cause contant nose bleeds. You may need to go to a Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist

LOL ! My AOL name used be KnowsBleede. So, l definitely know how irritated u probably r right now.

It sounds like the recent injury may have re-agitated whatever healed incorrectly when u broke ur nose at a younger age. However, nosebleeds can be caused by any number of things (injuries, high blood pressure, a clotting disorder, a deviated septum, allergies, sinus infection, changes in air pressure like in a plane, heat exhaustion, travelling to a city at an altitude you're unaccustomed to, or breathing plain old dry air). How u treat/stop it would depend on what caused it.

As someone who has had them close to 30 years, I'd say mine r easier to prevent, than to stop once they've started. Try to keep ur nasal passages moist so the capillaries inside ur nose do not break as easily. A saline gel or plain Vaseline inside ur nostrils once or twice a day should take care of that. Sleeping with a humidifier also helps with this. When l am out in the sun too long, l have to put ice packs on my forehead & the back of my neck to keep cool. l also drink large amounts of water so my nasal capillaries stay hydrated & expanded, not dried & constricted, which is when they break the most easily. l also have prescription nose spray that creates a buffer against whatever allergens my nose might react to.

Once my nose is actually bleeding, l stand up. l was instructed by my pediatrician to do this as a child. Apparently, this forces more of ur blood to pump to ur lower body & decreases the blood pressure in ur head. She also advised me to use a rolled up piece of gauze to keep my mouth wedged open. Not sure why, but it helps. Once again, cooling down my forehead & neck helps. Last, as strange/gross as it might sound, l put a cotton ball or wadded up piece of facial tissue into the nostril that is bleeding. It acts like a plug (and may need to be changed periodically).

Do not believe the folks who tell u to tilt ur head backwards. This helps the blood pool at the back of ur throat & can even choke u if the blood is coming rapidly. My allergist says the best thing is to try to keep ur head level & not leaned too far forward OR backwards. Some people (due their posture) have to actually lift their chins to make them parellel to the floor, & l think folks mistake this for a need to tilt the head all the way back.

I've heard of people needing everything from blood pressure medication to cauterization of the arteries in their nose to actual rhinoplasty (a nose job) in order to stop the bleeding. Hopefully, u wo not need anything that drastic, but u do need to go to the doctor. Since u have already broken ur nose once, u need to see an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist to determine if ur recent incident may have caused any additional damage. A doctor can help u better determine why ur nosebleeds keep happening. Only then will u know which method is best for combatting them.

Hi, the reason u keep getting nose bleeds is because the vein is weak in the area it originally 'burst' (which is what caused ur first bleed). Anything from a sneeze to just being really hot can cause a bleed once it is weak.
Your best (and permanent) bet is to go to the Doctors, & get it cauterized (basically, they seal the vein painlessly & in about 1/2 a second) & that will fix ur bleeds.
l had the same thing (from the same accident weirdly) & the more often u bleed, the more annoying & painful the area will get so get it cauterized before it builds up lumpy scar tissue where its constantly trying to heal (which u cant see but can feel, & believe me, its VERY annoying!.
Hope this helps!
