l recently had allergy tests done and found out I am allergic to all 50 things they tested for.On a scale of 0-9, I am a 10+++ on several different types of grass, cats, dust mites, and tobacco smoke. As far as the others go...I am about a 3-5.Normally they wait 15 minutes to see the results, but after 10 minutes she wiped the ones off that I am severely allergic to.Anyways...I've been researching the dangers associated with the shots, and some are pretty serious.l just wanna know if l should really be this nervous about getting them, or if I am being paranoid from reading the terror stories.

You can find out about allergies by having blood test done instead, much safer and the results are the most accurate.

Allergy shots r not typically that risky if administered properly. While there is a higher risk during the beginning, most of the ''dangers'' u can read about come from fairly extreme cases. They should always keep u around after ur first few shots to make sure u do not have an adverse reaction.

You may also want to consider some dietary things. By minimizing beef fat intake (steak, hamburger, milk, cheese, etc.) & eating lots of Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, the severity of allergies tends to reduce. The metabolic pathway for beef & lamb fat is generally inflammatory, while O-3/-6 is anti-inflammatory. Good sources include flax seed oil, fatty fish cooked medium to raw, & raw walnuts & almonds. In addition to drinking more water, many people have reduced symptom severity doing this.

l had a series of shots lasting nine years. l never had a severe reaction. They always make you wait half an hour after getting the shots to see if you will react or not. The shots have helped me a lot. It has been seven years since l discontinued the shots and l still have most of the benefits.

Everyone is different.so do not listen to everyone or you will go crazy. l take allergy shots myself. The only reaction l have his a little itching once in awhile,so l take an allergy pill if it really bothers me.The whole point of allergy shots is to build up your immunity to the allergan, just like the flu shot builds up your immune defences.
